The FEPCMAC (Federación de Cajas Municipales de Ahorro y Crédito, Savings and
Credit Municipal Banks Federation) are a system of decentralized financial
institutions to foster economic growth in the country. It was created by Supreme
Decree No. Nº 157-90-EF on March 7, 1986 and currently has 12 branches all over
the country with over 487 agencies nationwide and it is regulated by the SBS (Superintendencia
de Banca, Seguros y AFP, Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and Pension
Funds).
